Hi
Just wondered if anyone feeds this? I did read that it can be good for weight gain. Is this the case?

I have a skinny horse that needs more weight on her. I was thinking about A&P Calm&Condition but I am worried about the bad reviews that i have read. I could do with out a huge amount of energy. However i need the weight on her.

My horse is 9 year old. Standardbred. Currently in no work. She is due her next lot of worming this weekend. I plan on using equimax this time.

I currently feed Alfa A Oil, A&P Fast Fibre. Also hay twice a day. She is moving closer to home this week so plan on feeding 3times a day With a constant supply of hay. My other horse that i have possably sold is a pig so i think this will help my skinny minny as i can feed more with adlib hay.

Thanks for any feedback

My tb used to be on dodson and horrell build up and conditioning mix before I bought her .. when she came to me she was very thin and we put her on Allen and Page calm and condition.

Personally I couldnt reccomend anything else, it has suited her very well and its been so good hasnt blown her brains etc. Ive heard some horror stories but actully ive found it brilliant.

We changed her from orgional hifi to alpha a oil carrots and garlic now, since last night as although she is putting on weight, I just want something else to build her up a bit more.

I spoke to the lady in the feed store yesturday as I was wondering wether to change her from C&C to A&P weight gain or put her back on the dodson and horrell, but was reccomended to keeping her on the C&C as this is whats suiting her best.

I was told that the A&P weight gain she tried on her tb and it blew her brains and turned her very loopy.

So im havng o be very careful with what I try with my mare as the last thing I want is her being veryyy hyper etc.

Id try the C&C and see how you get on personally .. so many people have there horses on it that I know .. but then theres people that also threat about it .. its something where you cant really cross it off unless youve tried it?

Hope all goes well sorry couldnt be anymore helpful!

I was just worried about the bad reviews that i had read. Maybe i should just try it and decide from there.
Thanks though.

Anyone else tried the endurance mix?

I have used aileys very succesfully on a TB that would not gain weight - he was fed just that I was advised not to mix it with anything else! he gained weight very quickly and never got fizzy - within 6 months I had halved his food and he kept the weight on

I found it to be brilliant
