Hi guys

Does anyone use a balance strap or used one in past? What do you think to them?

Do they help your contact & security?

I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant & still riding & whilst my boy has been super well behaved these last few weeks I thought adding a balance strap might just give me a bit of extra security as my balance changes with my body?!

I thought for sakes of £10-£15 it was worth a shot!

Thanks

Yes I use they are great, I use it as training aid for my spooky mare. Money saving tip, don't go and buy the actual strap I have used an old flash strap, thread it through each d ring and buckle in middle, needs to be a full size flash strap though.

Thanks everyone for your replies, looks like they're a good thing & something that would be helpful to me at the mo! :D

i put one on if my kids are riding my pony. i always tell my eldest, who doesnt want to bother with learning to ride properly, he just loves to canter, to hold onto it with his inside hand so he doesnt pull on Ben's mouth by accident. and he uses it for rising trot at the mo as well. and tbh, if my pony didnt wear a martingale, i would properly use it myself for hacking. i always hook a finger thru his neckstrap when we gallop, jst in case he decides to spook at something.

If you're not planning on competing with it or anything, I'm currently using a bit of bailing twine which is working grand :)

Yup I admit it. Hunting breast plates are best!

Apparently those RStor things are quite good too R - S - Tor. In case you thought it was a spelliing mistake!
