As you might know I live in France and over here we don't have nearly as much feed as you can get in England and English imported brands are much more expensive.
As I go regularly to the UK I bring back bags with me.
I feed some of the mix the livery yard provides, plus one kg of alpha a oil per day. As I am not feeding either up to recommended levels I give D&H ultimate balancer. Unfortunately I have run out (my mum was supposed to bring me some but had to cancel her visit) and I won't be going back to England until the end of January. I can find it over here but a bag is twice as expensive as in the UK.
What should I do?
Do I really need the balancer or can I wait until the end of January?
I forgot to add he also gets hay and haylage in large quantities and 4-5 kg of carrots a day but has no acces to winter turnout.

Can you get straight forward broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplements easily over there? If you can then I would feed one of those instead of the balancer. You are feeding AlfaA and haylage so your horse won't require the protein which is in the balancer.

Brewers yeast is a brilliant feed balancer and I would imagine you can get that over there. Doesn't have to be horse specific supplier - so the brewing industry/ health industry would probably have it
