My 19yo mare gets a huge belly in summer (lives out in summer on not so good grazing) and I'm thinking of cutting out the hard feed come time. But still want her to have all the vit/mins for an aged horse in light to med work.
I don't know which would be cost effective, a balancer or a supplement? to be fed with alfaA Oil. I want to ensure she gets everything without making her any fatter yet supporting her age needs.
Any recommendations and price be much appriciated thanks

Im sure I read somewhere that balancers help horses get more calories from their food, therefore I would imagine weight?
So maybe a supplement would be better?

Lo Cal. As it suggests doesnt make them fat, but is good for muscle tone, for feet and makes sure they get everything they need. Is cheap too!!

I agree and think a supplement or something like spillers happy hoof or happy dieter. They are complete feeds with vits and mins added so you wouldn't have to worry.
