Hi all

I was wondering if anyone knows what a few small bald patches that have appeared around my horses girth could be?

They are NOT sore, inflamed or itchy and don't seem to both him at all...I just wanted to find out what could be causing them. He is in the very best of health otherwise.

He is ridden with a dressage saddle and girth. He used to have a girth sleeve but it kept slipping round so we stopped using it about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

He is clipped so spends a lot of time in rugs of one sort or another at this time of year. He gets about 6 or 7 hours of turnout a day and spends the rest of his time in his stable unless he is being worked. He is 15 years old

I have changed girths a couple of weeks ago and that doesn't seem to have made a difference yet.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Kat

Frank has a couple at the moment. History tells me that 1) shorter the clip the better 2) put a nuumed girth sleeve on his already favourite girth 3) ride with a loose girth :p 4) wait for summer coat to come through but be doubly careful when he is moulting (not started yet :p )
