My horse has developed bald patches on his face, not scabbie and can see no sign of lice. None of the other horses that share field & stable block have it. He has had a double dose of invermectin based wormer for possible mange. Being washed every other day with hibbi scrub, He's stabled at night and wet weather (so not out much). When out he is rugged. Bald patches now appearing on neck.
Vet coming again tomorrow have any of you got any ideas????????

Someone else here has the same problem and they posted pictures last night - think it was in the Lounge. I replied that my friends horse also had the same problem and don't know what is causing it. My horse has also tiny scabs on his face that come off and is left with little bald patches. Please let us know what your vet says as I would be interested to hear. Thanks.
My friends horse doesn't have scabs either, just big bald patches that are looking quite sore now.

Could it be ring worm? Are they scaley? Is your horse kept in the field with cattle or at close range of cattle? Sorry, its the only thing I can think of!? If it is try not to touch it, as it is very spreadable and also contagious, as it can spread to humans easily!

Ours have just gone into another field and we're beginning to think it's something to do with that - maybe something in the hedges.
