Bald patches

Hi can anyone recommend a cream or similar for my horses face, he came in from the field a week ago with cuts and had scrapped the skin off in places. Last year he cut his face in box and the hair has never grown back but isn't that noticable. He is my ridden show hunter and the season has just started, but not for a bald faced young man. Please help..
