(Well not usually/technically although sometimes terms get mixed up).

Polo bandages (also now popular for schooling particularly in dresssage) are fleecey and can be applied directly to the legs with no need for padding underneath.

Exercise bandages (used much more rarely nowadays) are made from a stretchy material and should always be applied with padding underneath, such as fibergee as otherwise they will put too much pressure on the legs. Exercise bandages are only applied from the base of the knee to the ergot, polo bandages although sometimes applied this way can also go under the fetlock to support this joint too.

It is definatley the exercise bandages I want rather the polo.
Just wasnt sure as was looking on ebay and saw they were quite a bit different in price.
