Hey

I know this is a really stupid question but what is the danger to the horse if a tail or leg bandage is put on with wrinkles pressing into the leg or dock?

I know it can cause a pressure point, but that will happen then (appart from it becoming uncomftable for the horse)

Thanks :)

you can seriously and permanently damage tendons on the legs and actually lose the tail if bandages cut off the blood supply .
bandages should never be used without a bandage pad of some sort underneath. if you arnt sure of tensions and making bandaging safe then please DONT use bandages . there are plenty of boots and stable wraps that can be used instead and are much safer:)
or get someone to show you how to do it properly and practice ,practice to make sure its right

Don't worry, I won't. I can understand bandaging and I know how tight everything should be etc, but I just wasn't sure what would happen if you didn't do it right, I was never told :)

Thanks for the help.
