My horse has a condition that means she has lots of skin folds that are prone to splitting on her legs. as part of the same condition she has a low immune system so the splits are prone to getting infected..... very much like a really bad case of mud fever at times (actiually called chronic progressive lymphedema, cpl)
I need to keep her exercised through winter to stop the fluid build up in her legs. I intend on hacking wherever possible but at some point wether will stop us. I cant take her in the school at the moment as it is very sand based and this will act like sandpaper if it gets in those creases on her legs. Also it will really dry the skin out and cause more cracks.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could cover her legs in from hoof to knee to stop the sand touching her? I have tried tubigrip and its better than nothing but with it having small holes in and tearing easily its not ideal. Some dust still does get through the material. ideas welcome!!!!
