Bandages

hey all, my horse has cut her leg and is costing me the earth to but her bandages for it all - she needs them changed every second day!
i was just wondering which websites are best and cheapest to get bandaging things from because getting it from the vets is super expensive!

any help with this is great

I dont use vet wrap I buy tail bandages as they are elastic and reusable I find they stay on really well.The plus side is you cant do them up to tight .

Vet wrap is the same as the stuff you can get from the chemist for people - might be cheaper?

Why not reuse washed crepe bandages for people - available from the chemist and secure using tape?

I tend to use tail bandages too.

our feed merchents sold us a whole box or vet wrap and it was cheaper. the human version is more expensive. I would be careful about skimping (sp) it may be worse in the long run

See if you can get a whole bundle of them from somewhere - equestrian clearance do them quite cheap which is where I get mine from or you could try ebay - I know there will be a few days delay till you get them but it might be worth a try.

depending on where the cut is - i have a W cob whon is scared of everything, especially bandages - so when he had an abcess last yr i used Tesco wollen men's socks over a poultice! Bargain, reusable, elastic etc! You could always cut out the toe and then jsut use them to cover the dressing or whatever. i would tape them on, though, to be on the safe side!
