Charlie is very prone to filled legs when stabled. Could exercise bandages be used (not elasticated) to try and prevent this? Or can any one recommend something else that works.

How about the bandages that combine fleece and support bandage? They look quite good. Roma and Shires both make them

My horse is prone to cellulitis in her legs when she gets a cut, last time she got cellulitis and lympthangitis ever since her back legs always fill .. She now has stable bandages and gamgee on back legs and turnout boots on in the field .. Since her legs have stopped swelling and her hind turnout boots are just there incase she cuts herself having a Hooly around (7year old tb) so she's extremely fine.

Stable bandages and padding - Thermatex do some really good bandages and not too expensive either. Cheaper ones tend to be really thin and lose their shape quickly - i.e. generally rubbish so worth investing in slightly more expensive ones :)

Magnetic stable boots really help prevent filled legs without the worry of them being too tight but you need to start with 4 hrs use and build up.

Definately exercise as the movement increases circulation and moves the fluid back upwards towards the heart.

Legs fill as a result of poor circulation - just like mine do when I don't do enough exercise or eat too much cereal foods.
