Has anyone had a sarcoid banded and if so did it look worse before it got better? Mine has one banded between his hind legs and its looking a bit manky. Its not hurting him though. Vet will check him tomorrow.

I have done it myself, and the vet has also done it. I used dental floss and the vet used castrating bands. In both cases the sarcoid fell off....and yes they did look horrible, but in both cases they grew back. Awful things.

My old horse had one banded on her stomach, it was initially about the size of a large grape. The whole area swelled dreadfully at first, she was obviously quite painful with it. It went pretty manky, appeared to blister and hung around for a good 3 to 4 weeks. Then one day I looked, and it was gone! This was about five years ago now, and it still has never grown back.
