someone I know has got into "rescuing". She has just short of 3 acres and is intending to put her 7th horse onto it. No stables, just 2 large field shelters. We have all tried telling her that there is just not enough grazing for that many horses but will she listen...will she hell. I'm tearing my hair out because I can see what will happen come winter.

Rant over

we had one down the road from me that started a rescue with very little land. In winter the horses are knee deep in mud likely they seem to finished with the rescue now

well this girl is a member on our forum and even on there everyone is saying don't do it but she's having none of it. What I don't want either is for anyone who visits the forum to think that I'm condoning this action or that she is part of Bank End. Come winter it's going to be a nightmare for them and they are mostly TB's or TB crosses

Oh dear. Some well-meaning idiot very close by here started a 'sanctuary' some years ago with one field. Apparently he was saving horses from being PTS, whether they were mental, old, crippled or whatever, and letting them loose in this 'ten-acre paradise' where they would live out their days without ever being bothered by human contact again. The next time I heard about it was in the local newspaper. There was a photo of about fifty horses and foals in a giant mud-hole, and after the RSPCA had seized them, not surprisingly, most had to be PTS.
