I really can't see why it's deemed an unsuitable topic for the forum. They've been found guilty as charged by the courts so public discussion can't affect the outcome of the case, & that also means it's not speculative or defamatory. It'll be in H & H soon enough on their news page, & people need to realise that not all rescues are safe havens for horses, even if they have managed to register as a charity. People MUST go & look for themselves, or use a trusted agent before consigning any animal to one of these places. It's just a shame that BER wasn't shut down & prosecuted after the first batch of unfortunate horses in her charge were PTS last year, but the authorities chose instead to try & work with her to resolve the situation, reduce the numbers, & improve the conditions. Of course every agreement made was reneged on.........who would ever have thought that would happen..............
As an aside does anyone know if Laddie's owner ever managed to trace him?

It's not unsuitable, per se, but history has shown that threads on this particular issue almost always degenerate into factional slanging matches, and that is not acceptable. Pre-emptive closure is an option we reserve for use as we see fit.

In addition, there is the appeal process to consider. As such, discussion of this specific case is still sub judice.
