So I was just in a local country store trying on a women's Ashbridge barbour jacket (setting off their alarms in the process) and the size 8 or 10 would fit me nicely however at £229 it's pretty expensive. I was having a look online to see if it was cheaper (it's not) and found the kids jacket in the same style at £129. Now I'm wondering if I'll fit in a kids size XXL. Can't find any equivalent measurements anywhere.

Any hope or should I accept this is an expensive jacket and just give up on the idea?

No idea on sizing but you may find the kids one not as flattering- my Barbour is nipped in at the waist but kids clothes are often cut differently so 'sits' differently on your frame. However at that price difference I would still be sorely tempted!

Not sure about Barbour but I am a 8-10 and can wear XL kids Ariat and Ralph Lauren. But I am only 5' 2", I do find the length is OK on me but would probably be short on a taller person. Worth a try.

Ahh that's a good point. The ladies coat I tried on was a nice tailored shape. Hopefully I'll find a local stockist of the kids coat to try on

I've found barbour are a touch stingy on the sizes, so I'm normally a 10/12 in civilian wear but always, always a 14 in barbour
