I was thinking about booking my youngest in for riding lessons here - she is 6 can walk and trot on her own and do a tiny bit of canter providing the pony is sensible. Does anyone have any experience of the place. PM me if you prefer.
Also - what do people think about group lessons V private lesson?

Thanks if anyone can help

I've had group lessons for quite a while and recently switched to private lessons as I felt I wasn't getting as much as I could out of group lessons. My instructor said that she personally prefers to teach clients on a one to one basis as you can give the rider all your attention. She also said that if you're a fairly competent rider, the problems that need ironing out are generally harder to improve in group lessons than in private lessons as well. While there are the benefits, private lessons are quite expensive too. From the sounds of it, your daughter sounds like she has a fairly good seat, but you could always try group lessons first to see how she develops. The most important thing is to get her in the saddle as much as possible, so you could always alternate a private lesson every two weeks and get your daughter riding group lessons each week to ease the wallet

I was a bit put off by group lessons by a school we tried about a year ago - in half an hour the ponies all did their own thing and two people fell off - it was chaos! But I suppose if they are well organised then at least she would get more time in the saddle

(providing she doesn't start falling off)
