I am trying to come up with a ndiet for my 17hh tb who hopefully will be being rehabbed barefoot if my vets stop faffing and I stop getting shouty at them. Ideally I want a diet that I can up quantities when (and if ) he comes back to full work rather than changing completely from what I am feeding now. From reading everyones posts, ideas etc I need to stay away from molasses, cereals, alfa a and take care over when he is turned out ( have the lami app now ) as much as possible - I currently have at my disposal (the joys of having three very different horses :D) just grass, alfa a molasses free, d and h high fibre cubes, d and h equine sensitive (how good does this smell ??? ) fast fibre, show improver pencils, crushed oats, linseed lozenges and crushed barley - can I combine any of this to make a suitable diet or do I need to go and quiz my feed man again :) The horse in question is big both in height and length so has a tendency to run up light very easily and also has the tendency of a slug when ridden which can lead to bad behaviour (rearing, bucking etc if he hasn't got the energy ) Any advice would be very very much appreciated

I feed:
Copra, micronised linseed, speedibeet, Alfa a cubes.

Woud avoid anything compound, try and stick under 10% sugar and starch.

Most of what you list sounds unsuitable to me.

My TB needs a higher calories diet than my other two who are fine on Alfalfa Chaff and Multi Vit/Min and chaff / grass.

He gets Oats, oil, Alfalfa and the same supplement, along with Hay / grass.

He events, hunts and edurances/treks no problems.
