Does anyone have any suggestions for a barefoot friendly condition/fibre cube that I can add to their speedibeet, linseed, and prohoof supplement. Fussy pony gets bored and ends up leaving the last bit of his feed, he needs a cube of some sort to make it a bit more interesting. I've used Pure Feeds Condition pellets last winter, but I was hoping I would find something in the feed shop so I don't have to store 5+ bags at a time. I won't be feeding huge quantities, just a cup or two to make dinner more appealing - both are tbs though so don't need to worry about weight gain (too much). Also thought about using copra instead, do fussy eaters like it?

Thank you!

Hi, mine is the exact same. I feel Spillers High Fibre cubes, they are really tasty (according to my horse) and are barefoot friendly.

ETA my horse is fussy and I really struggled to ever get her to eat copra, though it is so good for them. I feed speedi beet, which she absolutley loves.

ditto the high fibre cubes- though they won't really condition. My fussy will eat copra but has only ever been allowed a taste as he doesn't need it.

Thanks, will go for the high fibre cubes for now, and maybe get some of the pure feeds condition cubes once winter sets in. Might see if I can get a small bag of the copra and see if he likes it!

Spillers high fibre cubes, or I use baileys fibre nuggets (they are really big) soaked - they are really herby and smell lovely.

Or you could use grass pellets, which I change to over winter as they are more 'conditioning'

Dodson & Horrell ERS Pellets - high fibre, slow release energy, no starch or molasses - very barefoot friendly and Kali LOVES them.

P.S. And, yes, fussy eaters do like Copra - but it's pretty much textureless as you have to soak it . . . smells heavenly though

Thank you, might try the ERS pellets and copra in the winter, depending on how fat they are! Old boy needs energy so would definitely suit him, silly younger one might have to stick with the high fibre cubes.

My very fussy TB loves the Top Spec conditioning cubes, they're low starch so assume barefoot friendly? I did try Copra ,he eventually ate it but then it sent him loopy so had to stop feeding it because of that!
