Just wondering really how many of you keep all or some of your horses barefoot (without shoes)

Let's not get into the semantic arguments about "barefoot" or "unshod" - just a poll of how many are shod and how may are bare

1 pony never had shoes
1 pony shod all round when I got him. Took backs off straight away. Then took fronts off when it was really snowy the winter before last as his shoes were packed with ice. Never put back on again. No change in diet but I feed low sugar, high fibre anyway. Feet look great.
1 horse (had 4 months) - shod when I got him and at the moment it works and he has great feet. Not currently intending to change that situation but will keep an open view on it.

Both ponies are unshod with no special diet other than grass. No supplements other than a salt lick.

Hacking mine out 4-5 times a week for 2 hours on Tarmac and forestry tracks. Home to the main road is 40m of stoney hardcore

She came to me unshod and already sore at the front, so we put front shoes on. With very little road work she wasn't great at the back so she's now shod all round and much happier.

And yes her diet was fine at her own home and better than fine now, she just doesn't have the feet to be unshod.
