Barefoot people - recommend me some reading material please

Hi

Have two unshod horses and a farrier that is happy to keep them so, whilst I am reasonably confident that all is well - I haven't got a clue what I'm looking at!

Could anyone point me in the direction of any reading online or otherwise which will cover the very basics of Hoof structure and function, finding lots of interesting stuff online but my basic knowledge is lacking (non-exsistant)
