Barefoot Police Horses

Probably everyone knows about this but me(!) but I found it interesting that Houston mounted police horses, of a variety of different breeds including draft horses, warmbloods and TB's are barefoot - http://www.houstontx.gov/police/mounted/horses.htm

Some of my horses have been shod, some barefoot. I hope if/when I qualify as a vet I will be open minded both ways

A couple of other units have followed Houston's example since then.

When I was on a trim practical out in the USA last autumn we went to one really big livery yard, Horse First Farm where all the horses were on a track system and they also had the local police horses, massive 17-18hh with hooves as big as dinner plates and had all been beautifully trimmed by one of the officers. They were doing great, and it was great to see, they got the whole horse horsemanship working really well for them which is why I think it had been so sucessful.

Drop box you can shove large files. I use it for articles I want clients/friends to see - really useful imagine there are lots of similar packages though, and you only get limited space.

I was dubious about dropbox at first but it is easy to use and good to share with friends. Also a good backup for important docs in case 'computer says no'
