Barefoot Taliban - advice please

Ok horse has been without shoes since January this year. Fed hay, high fibre cubes, top chop lite msm progressive earth probalancer and a drop of omega/soya oil.
His feet are done by a barefoot trimmer. He seems to have got very footy recently, is this always going to be the case when we have seasonal changes or is there something else I could try or am I doing something wrong?

How old is he?
Has he ever been tested for Cushings?
How recently is recently, laminitis is extremely common in late autumn?

Can we see side on and front photos taken with the camera on the floor, and sole shots?
 
Well he is ok in the school, on grass etc but as soon as the surface is gritty/stony he struggles, ok on smooth tarmac, noticed is getting worse over the last two months. He is 16 and never tested for cushings
 
Also noticed he is not moving hinds as well as he has been especially when turning on concrete, he seems to twist with both feet on the ground and not step round
 
is his back\ pelvis area ok? sounds odd with the not stepping round, but also my horse shows footiness behind with thrush.
 
Got the Mctimoney lady next week, I have just noticed that if he is standing one way and go to turn him the other he sort of pivots on his back legs until I get him to chivvy up. Not sure if this is linked to the footiness? Barefoot trimmer has recommended Hypocare for thrush but its a spray and he is a bit of a ****** for sprays so I have to be quick! Was putting on cornecrescine but tack shop run out so don't know if that has had an effect also think I ought to start the mag ox again. Really thought we were getting somewhere with this.....

talk VERY LOUDLY when you are spraying, a nursery rhyme will do, to mask the noise.
Hope you find the cause.
 
Laminitis is common at this time of year, as are seasonal hormone rises in a cushings animal. I have a horse who is worse at this time of year, but his issues are hind gut acidosis. He's been tested three times for cushings/IR as suffers from very low grade laminitis at times. With HGA he is also reluctant to step through and use himself properly. I think it's a fairly common but misunderstood condition, but could be causing you issues too.
