Hi to cut a long story short, 13hh pony been lame since Sept, had X-rays, MRI, remedial shoeing and box rest, nothing working. Vet wants to try more remedial shoeing, I'm very tempted to try barefoot with advice from a barefoot trimmer but struggling to find one locally. Found one Cheshire who doesn't come this far, and Anglesey who only comes this far sporadically. Does anyone know of any barefoot trimmers near Chester/Wrexham? Many thanks in advance!

Chris Simpson may do, I like his trim but I met Emma Bailey when in Oswestry and have been very happy with her work- she comes to see our two horses in Tarvin, so Wrexham/Chester is fine.

For background, my horse has been barefoot just over a year and I'd gotten really used to Ramey style trimmers in the US. A KC Lapierre trained "podiatrist" rasped off all my horse's outer wall to her coronary band (lol, welcome to the UK: http://imgur.com/CFapWYx ... wtf even IS that trim?!) and left her sore when she's NEVER been sore after a trim....so I'm VERY leery of the "podiatrist" qualification now. In the US a podiatrist is a DVM (vet) who specializes in feet, not a butcher.
