Can anyone recommend one who may have time to fit in a new client, and is really good, most importantly! We did have a very good local - ish trimmer from the north of the county but despite his skill with feet he didn't have the patience for my big lad's hind leg issues. He can struggle holding them up (undergoing investigation) and is not nasty but does try to put them back down or lean at times. I've tried contacting Matthew Jackson but he never gets back to me. Very busy I guess. I think someone with understanding of barefoot performance would be a better choice as I'm having issues with keeping toes short enough with current farrier (who is the best of the bunch). We are West Northumberland.

Don't know if Alun travels that far, as he's based in Durham, but no harm asking. Barefoot benefits. Great trimmer, always has time for the horse and client.

I avoided naming names as the likelihood of someone jumping and demanding to know the exact problem with him was fairly high, tbf. Anyway some possible alternatives so thanks.

I don't think Steven Leigh has time for anyone new. I asked him several times at the start of our barefoot adventure - sent him photos, arranged times. First he couldn't come because of something, but judging from the photos she was doing well without a trim. Then something happened to his van and although he said he'd contact me, he never did. I managed to get hold of him and we identified a week he'd be my way but he never got back to confirm what day. And I've never been able to get hold of him since. That was from April - June last year. So I bought a rasp, watched a few yootoob videos and kept walking on the tarmac and stones and hoped very much that, if something serious arose, I'd be able to find someone who could assist.

So thank you for the alternatives. :)
