One of my cobs seems foot sore atm. I'm guessing its down to all of the mud he's being turned out in, and how wet everywhere is...
Is anyone else having these issues and what can i do to help it?
He's on:
a handful of safe and sound
Pro balance supplement
Salt
Linseed
MgO
And hay
I've started putting iodine on his feet once a day this wk too x

Mine is not so good when it is very wet, is yours out 24/7 or part stabled?
Mine comes in at night on a shavings bed and I put field paste on daily when it is wet all the time, which helps!
He always goes out better in the morning when his feet have had a break from the wet.

There are some horses that don't manage well unless you can get their feet dry for a period. If Keratex still sell a product called Hoof Gel, that waterproofs the whole bottom side of the foot, but only if you can get it on when the foot is bone dry - hairdryer dry!

I have heard that some people in lower lying areas have grass growing already, so do consider that too if he gets any worse.

He's in each night already, but trying to dry feet better when he comes in, and started spraying with iodine and using hoof heal, as of Monday, although feet don't smell thrushy.
Thanks everyone just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing anything, may try keratex stuff if no improvement...
Don't think we have any grass growth, field is just a muddy playpen at the moment :-(
Never seen flooding like we've had this winter!!!
Hot vimto and hot pot all round, thanks!
P.s what is field hoof paste?
Ta :-)

Feel for you all. We are enjoying a long hot summer, but our turn will come :D

Hoof function also plays a part when all is mud and slush. Hooves don't function as they 'aught on soft ground, which also leads to problems during the winter.

Mine are coming in during the day onto a concrete yard. Battling thrush all the time as they tend to sulk in the shelter a lot in the field and with it being 18x22 and four horses, it gets full of poo!!!
