The other day I went to my local tack shop, simply for a browse. (must stop doing it, as often come back with 'something'!! Anyway, was just curiously looking in the second hand dept at turn out rugs, as this is what we always need! On top of the pile a brand new Masta, MW .. in the right size too! This is a make that suits my horse, and I like the strong chest buckles as opposed to the clips. Also came with a neck cover (personally I hate them, so it won't be used on the horse!) Honestly never been on a horse, so spankingly new, yet obviously been 'bought' by someone who didn't/couldn't put it to use. £50 all in. I could either sell the neck cover on its own?? or use as a dog bed cover/sheet/dog car bed thing!! I think, and hope!! that new, I would have been looking at about £90+?? I'm never one to be really good at bargains, but pleased with this!!

That is a bargain!Still think my best bargain was my wintex saddle I brought for £40 with all the gullets that had ben sat on a whole of 3 times. Even still had the tag on - just didn't fit her arab! Still have it 6 years later and love it.

I have had many bargins!

a 100g rambo turnout-£8
thick wool rug (perfect for layering)-£6
brand new tri zone tendon and fetlock set-£25
wool show rug (barely used)-£5
sheepskin half pad-£10.00
leather headcollar with engraving-£25.00
kool kat combo-£7.50
pair of new dressage saddle cloths-£25.00
new gp saddle cloth-£1.50

All from ebay/car boot sales :)

Went to the local tack shop to buy a new bridle for new horse & found a nice Jeffries one for about £80. Went to pay & the sales girl said they were having a half price sale & everything was included. I didn't belive the bridle would be in the sale but she assured me it was. At that point nearly bought 2 but stuck with one! Went back the next day to change the noseband for a different size & get another bridle for Mum but this time got the owner who said no, the bridles weren't included in the sale. Did feel a bit sorry for the sales girl but they did let me change the noseband at no extra charge! Just wish I'd bought 2 at the beginning!

Bag of horsey stuff, £25 off carboot, included stretch and flex wraps, headcollars, reins, two rugs etc. sold the boots on and used the rest! We have tack sales locally and do really well, rugs for £30, rambo at that! Best buy was a comfort saddle, £250

I got a 1500 jumping saddle from a saddler going bust on eBay for 500. Then the other day I was in a very posh tack shop which sells posh second hand stuff too and started looking at the myler bits they had. Picked one up (probably 5 second hand ones) with the right type of forward port not upwards port, D snaffle with slots, in a 4.75" which is her size for £40 quid. I still can't believe it, not just the fact I got exactly what I was looking for in an unusual size but that I hadn't even been able to work out what the mouthpiece I was looking for is even called, and now I've got one. Jumped her in it today and it was all great. Hurrah!

I just bought 5 rugs from someone who had downsized their horse so had no use for 6.6 rugs. 3 weatherbeeta rugs. One heavyweight with neck and two middleweights the same but one with a neck and one without, a heavy weight slumberdown indoor and a middleweight slumberdown indoor for £120.00 the whole lot! All are like new as they had only had the horse a year.

I recently had a hardly worn pair of De Niro boots for £60!! Was ridiculously excited when i emailed the lady selling for the size and they happened to be mine! :D

My BEST buy was brand new Jeffries bridle for £5.0 fro a local tack shop They had a tub of bridle bit & pieces, all new for a £1 each. Having found a couple of matching Jeffries cheek pieces I dug a bit further. Found the rest of the bridle all in separate parts, great buy for the pony I had at the time, it made her show bridle.

Went to Trago Mills (which sells anything and everything)..and went into the saddlery section and was browsing and came across Lister Stable mate Clippers..They were all complete and in the box but the price tag said £70..I asked the lady behind the counter and she said a lady had bought them and when she tried them near her pony it freaked so she returned them...The original price sticker was also still on them £269..That is my bargain of the century..
