I havent posted in here before, so hello!

I was hoping someone could suggest some ideas to stop my two dogs from barking at the gate whenever someone goes past. We leave them out if we go out for the morning because we dont like leaving them shut it (oppinions?)

Whenever someone or another dog (or even sometimes a car!) goes past, they run to the gate and bark like crazy but with their tails wagging. Neither of them are ever aggressive.

Any help would be appriciated!

Thank you

Ours do the same when they are out of doors, thougt we leave them in the house if we go out.

We used to worry about them annoying our neighbours, but the other night someone was trying to gain access to our neighbour's garden. Our two dogs, who were having their last run in our garden, got very angry and vociferous, and the would-be burglar and his accomplice took off. So now I think I'll let them bark.

I would be worried someone would steal the dog too!

My dog only barks if someone knocks at the door, anyone walking past the gate is subject to squealing and licking. I would feel safer if she barked!

I'd be worried someone stole my dog! He never gets left outside unattended.

I agree with this

Harley barks at people on walks sometimes (only if they don't have a dog). I have to keep a look out and if I recall him before they get too close he doesn't do it. But at one point he was really bad and I got him an anti-bark collar (Pets at Home sell them, but they are cheaper on ebay). When they bark it sprays a jet of water/citronella underneath their chin which snaps them out of it.

I dont leave her unattended outside but she does bark when we go out for a walk or she is in the garden and people walk past. This to me is a good guard dog protecting her ground and it makes me feel safe and I would never want to stop it.
