checked 8.30am all ok 22nd May
fed carrots by other horseowners between 10.30a.m. and 11.00am.on 22nd May
visitor with peelings at 1.00pm left without seeing him
Location of paddock, St Davids fields behind Penprys kennels stables, Bryn Llanelli
Carmarthenshire
Went back up 23rd May 9.00am no sign of Barney notified police and posted signs
checked surrounding fields.
Been at same location for 13 years , never before gone wandering.

Detailed Description

quite shy if approached by strangers will take food from friends but won't allow them to get too close inside field only through fence. Can be a pain to catch have to have knack and unique approach usually.
whorl at eye level
feathered whorl flanks and right and left chest and upper chest whorl behind right ear.
Still showing some of his winter coat which is more dark bay than black.
Could be Shetland Grand National Winner if taken seriously, but is seriously cute and has fan club Tom Jones would envy.

very sad news heard from the owner

Very sorry to report found Barney tonight 2 fields away in ditch. Looks like run in and hopefully died instantly. absolutely gutted. Thanks for all your help. Maybe 1 day get over this, checked field twice already but so overgrown missed him, never forgive myself. x

Hi,

I know this is an old post but ill post anyway...

I was one of Barney's owners, he was my first pony and learnt to ride on him. very sad to hear he died.

miss him every day. :( Best wishes to his owner. he was my best buddy. x
