Anyone had any experience of this? I've been given the green light by my OH so would welcome your views. Thanks!

Never had a custom made one but have a lovely Barnsby saddle which is uber comfy to ride in. You are one lucky lady!

ISHMad thanks - and I know. The funny thing is that my car will actually only be worth £500 more than the saddle!!! But then having this saddle excites me much more than any car would, tragic person that I am! Cheers for your reply.

Had a bad experience with barnsby, brought a new saddle, made to measure, but it needed adjusting when it fitted. Went back to them 4 times but never fitted at all.
I rode in it a total of 12 times cost me a fortune and my horse had to have pysio after it all.

Got a refund and they ended up admitting fault and paid for the pysio too.

Had a black country made to measure and havnt looked back.

Do you really need custom (which is more likely M2M ie tweaking features and measurements on a standard bench made saddle)? SO many reasons to buy from standard stock if you can.

At least they admitted it and refunded, when something similar happened to me, I got nothing other than denial and had to exchange the saddle elsewhere. Which fitter did you have?

Well, fact is I have an Iberian horse and to try and find a saddle that fits him well from the limited ranges that the fitters around here carry is proving very difficult. So, I felt that having one made from scratch for him personally, and especially as it doesn't cost a premium because of that, would be the best way forward. Also, quite a few people I know swear by Barnsby saddles which seemed a good recommendation.

I'm in North Wales by the way - a Barnsby fitter from Lancashire would be the one who would work with me. So without mentioning names, does that relate to any of the negative experiences posted here? Thanks all.

Hi, I too have a Spanish horse and have just yesterday purchased a Barnsby dressage saddle for him! It's the best fit I've been able to find after trying several others, and including a made to measure that doesn't really fit. Saddler will do a little reflocking to tweak it for him and he can finally be comfortable.

I don't want to name names as it's a friend of friend that fitted the saddle, so things were a bit differicult.

However it's a lot further south then you are:)

Fair play Mucky.

Corez, that's good to hear - do you know what model the saddle is? Is your horse typical of the breed? Thanks.
