Firstly I would like to thank everyone for the positive vibes, PM's and replies to my last post, very much appreciated
Well vet came out again Friday and gave him another steroid injection, he was kept in with legs bandaged and they stayed down. His appitite returned and he looked so well (obviously due to the steroids). So since saturday he has been on oral steroids and antibiotics. Returned to turning him out on saturday but he is in at night as he will be at high risk of lami for a while.
Vet reassured me that we caught it very early and he is very hopefull that he will be fine. He is responding well to medication so just have to hope that when he is taken off it he will be ok, but just a waiting game I suppose.
He has come up in yet another huge abcess right next to the other one which looks about to burst. So his appetite has now reduced again. I am hopefull that will burst over night or tomorrow.
I am in contact with vet daily and I think he is coming to see him again tomorrow night so should know more then.
His poor legs are all cracked along the back of his pasterns and his new abcess is irritating him a bit but apart from that the medication has brightened him up loads so its not as depressing for me to look at him.
Obviously I am still quite stressed about the whole situation but I am hopefull that he will be ok. I have to stay positive as I can not even bare to think about what I would do if he didnt get better.
I will give updates as and when anything changes. Thanks again for all the support, you lot have been great
