Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows of any barrel racing comps which are based in the south of england..?
I've just bought a palomino quarter horse and would love to compete him.

Membership Fees



Joining Fee: £2.00 Payable by all members (including each family member) on first joining the Association.

Adult Membership: £20.00 Each year

Youth Membership: £6.00 Each Year (Under 17's only)

Family Membership: £30.00 Each Year (2 Adults and those under age 18 all residing at the same address)

What benefits do I gain by joining the WHA?


All members receive, free of charge four newsletters which keep them fully advised of what is happening in all regions of the country, plus news and views from members. You also get unrestricted access to the WHA web site. The WHA holds three major annual shows and members organise many affiliated shows and other social functions throughout the country.

Do I have to have a horse?
No. There are organised film shows, social meetings, etc. and there is always a real need for helpers at our horse shows.

Do I need an American breed of horse?
No. The Association is open to all horses and ponies - a useful booklet on converting the English trained horse to Western is available from the WHA shop

Where do I go to learn Western Riding?
We have a list of riding establishments that offer such facilities and there are organised instructional weekends and monthly clinics at reasonable fees in various parts of the country.

Where do I learn Western Riding if there are no facilities near me?
By coming to the shows where you can look, listen and learn. Also there are numerous publications available starting from the very basic and progressing right through to Advanced Western Riding. We hold a list of publications and where to get them

Where can I get advice about tack and clothing?
Included in the membership of the WHA are traders who can advise you on the correct tack for your horse. Also many of our Area Reps and members are very knowledgeable
