Since I'm stuck in bed with flu, obviously looking for a place to ride is v sensible. ;)

Has anyone any experience of the place above, or any alternative recommendations for an RS for a rusty adult? Within striking distance of Diss.

Middle Harling is only about 20 minutes from Diss. I had a couple of lessons there a while ago before I got my horses and they seemed okay.

Thanks Caramac. I have been there for hacks, wasn't sure if it would be more child focused for lessons though. Did you find it ok for lessons?

It was a while ago when I went but yes it was fine. I went in the week so it was really quiet and there weren't any kids about but the instructor I had was lovely.

That's good to know. I've only been at a weekend, and (probably like most RSs to be fair) it was overrun with squeaking midgets! :D

I've also just thought, my riding instructor gives lessons on her horse too. I can ask her as well if you like. She keeps him between Diss and Thetford.

Thank you! Don't think I'll be able to start riding again before April, with work and moving, but perhaps I could PM you then, if that's ok?

Thank you. I'm just a rusty happy hacker looking for some lessons to get back into the swing of things again, so I can go hacking again while I wait until I can afford my own, so probably quite uninteresting for most instructors :o I have plenty of things to work on mind you!

Theres a riding stables near Eye, Clint Farm equestrian. I've had one lesson there (getting back into after my second child) and it seemed a nice place, nice gentle cob to ride that wasn't a dobbin, instructer was friendly. It then snowed endlessly so my lessons were cancelled, and in the meantime i fell on my feet and found a horse in the village to ride :)
I now just hack out with my friend and pop along to Ashen equestrian centre near sudbury for a simulator session now and again (is that an option for you as a one off - tis good fun and very enlightening). When I (eventually) get my own horse I will be traveling to Ashen with the horse, and wouldn't even consider anything else tbh.
