I have decided to treat my three boys to new turnout rugs this winter and I tend to buy expensive ones that will hopefully last for years. But the last one I bought was £180 but its not a combi so am now thinking a total cost of circa £600 for the three. So........

is it worth trying to get a bit of cash off in this financial climate and does anyone know of any companies where this has worked.

I also buy three expensive rugs at a time and yes I get discount at my local tack shop. . .or they thru in a £60 numnah 4 me once. . . If you dont ask you dont get!!!!

I think its worth trying to get money off when you buy anything at the moment, a friend of mine recently got a pair of dubarrys for £120.

Also if you have a few tack shops in the local area, i always play one off against the other - great entertainment

good luck

Hi - I defo think that it is worth a try, I try it frequently with various levels of sucess. I defo strongly believe in 'If you dont ask, you dont get'. I've found this works best at the trade stands at big shows, they often have special offers anyway and dont mind a bit of bartering. I suppose so long as you know exactly what rugs you wanted this would be ok, so you dont have to worry about exchanging.

Happy negotiations!!

Of course, especially online, just give them a call, every penny counts as they say
