This saddle fits my horse really well but sure it fits me! Anyone that has had one - do you know of any similar fit saddles that I should try? I really wanted an Albion but seems that high withers don't really suit them?

Hi

It depends what your budget is...Bates Caprilli is comfy, but I find the knee pads do nothing for me and my leg slips forward when I do extended work? Sister has Bates Innova w/standard blocks, and that is SUPER comfy, puts you in a really good position. I always have a sore back, and that is the only saddle I've ridden in....in the past 8 years? That has never given me a sore back.

What model Albion? And have you tried riding in it? Bruce has an SLK and I HATE it. The pommel is too high, and the seat too deep....Finds it gives me a sore crotch and under-inner thigh! Don't know that there are unsuited to high withers but we had an Albion on a welsh section B and this Albion on Bruce ISH....who are both quite low sloping wither types....

Would really really recommend Bates Innova w/standard blocks. They are expensive, but are beautifully made. If you search hard enough (eBay, second hand tack, part exchange etc) you can get a good deal on one.

Albion SL would go nowhere near him, SLK the same. Might try a K2.
How does the bates sizing work - what is Size 1 etc?
I do like a deep seat but may just have to go with what fits horsey
