Can i have peoples opinion on these please?

I had my saddler out this morning and my saddle is just not fitting at all so we are going to go for a new saddle, he suggested one of these i just wanted to no peoples views on them as my YO was very against them and coupldn't find a nice word to say about them, he will be bringing one up for me to try on her when i next have him out.

i have one and its lovely, fits really well and is v.v comfy. plus the changeable gullets are great for when they change shape.
just remember to use bates stirrup leathers not others as they will scrape the leather (I didnt get told this until it was too late

Mine has alot of fans. It is the bates momentum and everyone who has sat on it says how comfy it is. it is nicely made, but my horse isnt keen on the cair, so had to use a prolite pad. Have never used the bates leathers and not had a problem.

I knew i could get some info from you guys!!! I was thinking of going for the VSD one as i want to do more flat work then jumping but there is still that bit of roll there if i do jump and for general purpose work as i don't want a full blown dressage saddle as yet!!!

He said about the gullits etc cos she will change shape and for me it would be comfty as im not a small frame person lets put it that way!!!!

he said its going to be about 800 for a new one, i didn't think that was too bad, not that i have that money laying around but its something that needs doing!!

I have the GP, Close Contact & Dressage saddles, as you can gather I like them. The leather is real quality & it only takes 5 minutes to change the gullet. One tip though is only use Bates leathers, they are expensive but any other leathers really rough up the saddle panels & this is unnecessary.

Don't be afraid to but a good condition second hand one..... you can always change the gullet to fit & you'll save yourself several hundred pounds on new.

I did find the VSD not very good for jumping so i got the momentum instead which is just wonderful, I really wouldn't jump in anything else. In fact I think it has saved me a few times!!
