Had a saddle made for my cob he is not flat backed but it still rolls so I am not too happy any one have the above saddles info would be great, many thanks.

Field house definately for the 'wider' horse.

I had a lovely Fieldhouse saddle for Amy - and it fitted her beautifully. She was a cob type.

I have a Bates for Thumper - who is predominantely TB.

Bates have more of a banana shaped tree, so won't suit flat backed types

i will be recieving my full money back for my 10 month old fieldhouse (and vets fees too) which has been found to be seriously faulty. so i wont recommend them to anyone. I may well have been unlucky though.

ETA recently fieldhouse have also moved their factory over to argentina - just to clear it up for those who think they are made in the uk!

Fieldhouse saddles are SO comfy! However I used it on my TB x who is VERY slim so not sure if it would fit a cob. Tried a Bates saddle on this same horse once and he immediately threw me off! But its because he is very compact so the seat was too long for him.

For my Welsh Cob (who is barrel shaped) - only saddle I found to fit was a Wintec Wide which is excellent.

I have a bates caprilli cc jump saddle, fits my warmbloodx really well and is comfy, he is now much happier jumping with it and its very light. He used to have a black country but we didnt get on with it!

I had a GFS for my maxi cob but thats when problems started, I blame the saddler more then the brand though!? The saddle I have now is an Albion and the tree is hoop shaped and fits my wide boy very well.
