I have had both and the dressage. I currantly have the VSD as the GP was restricting my mare's big shoulders. I really like it. Its very comfortable to ride in, its very secure too, just a little more forward cut than the GP. Can't you try both before you decide?

Depends what you do more of. The VSD (very slightly dressage) is just that and the GP you will do you of a bit of everything. I find the VSDs are ok for doing more flatwork on but are limited with the jumping.
I would try them both first if possible.

I have an Albion VSD in dark brown and use it for show hunter and dressage, I'm not riding at the mo and Ralph's being ridden by my instructor who is a dressage rider and he likes it too. I've also jumped in it and feel very secure
