is it ok to travel a horse with the top door of a bateson trailer up my youngster is used to travelling in a box and im just getting him used to a trailer but he seems scared of all that is going on behind him so wondered if it would help to shut the top door

Yes, I travelled mare & foal like this, and gradually progressed to having the doors open like a grown up - foal is 2 now and travels like a pro.

yeah my thoughts were that it would be more like being in a box which he is used to small journeys we will get there

I always travel with the top door shut in winter and mine is fine with it
