well was goin for the pre - novice had a very civilised start and left the yard at 11 aimed 2 get there 4 1

dressag went ok i though it was nice apart from his walk (which is always bad) but the judge disagreed and gave me 37 which i was quite disapointed with!

sj was again average had 2 lazy mistakes he just rolled them behind however the annoncer said i had gone clear an i thought he had just made a mistake but wen i checked the results on the burghley page it also said i had gone clear

anyway stared the xc and he was going fantastically went 1 2 3 4 flew then went straight route at the courner at 5. 6 7 8 great then straight through a double or skinny triple brushes at 9 (big pats lol) 10 11 12 13 still flying but then disaster!! inbetween fences 13 and 14 he suddnely went hopping lame!! pulled up and retired straight away.

i noticed a few speaks of blood on the floor and picked his foot up to find something had pearced his frog. vet was with us within 2 mins cut his frog bak and couldnt find anything and he trotted up sound so poulticed his foot and went home.

but the next morning he was seriously lame and sprnt most of the morning lying down and could barley walk (he haddent lost his never ending appitite though!) had the vet out who couldnt find anything but pumped him full of bute and antibotics and he is quite a bit better 2day altough stil not right

oh no ur poor horse...hope it is something little...often if they r hopping lame they get better sooner...well with my experience...we had a horse that the vet cudnt pick up the lameness but i cud feel she wasnt rite and so they did scans and xrays and she had to be off for a year!!

What bad luck!
Years ago we had a similar lameness and the vet eventually X rayed and discovered a nail had gone horizontally into the frog, breaking off as it did.
It was only half an inch long but made him very lame.
If he doesn't improve get an X Ray, the farrier and vet both missed this nail despite looking several times over the following weeks.
Hope he is sound very soon.

What a shame, but atleast it's (fingers crossed) not a long term injury and you will be back out fighting fit next season......

Well said MDM...........

thanks guys!! good new he is very nearly sound now and went charging round the feild 2 day and u could hardly notice anything!! so fingers crossed he should be ok soon!!
