Bath area, riders now allowed on some footpaths/cyclepaths

BANES has decided to do a 12 month trial, not sure when it started on letting horses use foot/cycle Paths, mainly the Bristol/Bath Railway path to saltford, some around Chew Valley and Norton Radstock

There's a map on the link showing where you are allowed to go

I read about this in The Western Daily Press, shame they haven't quite venture my way yet. Though Kilmersdon is not that far.
A letter in todays WDP about it said about picking up the horse poo. Mary Tapping replied saying it was inpractical to pooper scoop but and unlike dog poo is harmless to people. She did suggest we kick it to the side, but trying to find a suitable mounting block and having a horse that unless held you can not get on, I don't think this is practical for all either.

I saw the letter that was written, but couldn't find the article in last weeks paper. We are about a 15 min ride from the start off the bristol bath railway path, might make a change from going around the racecourse again!
