Battery light not going off on horsebox?

Any lorry mechanics out there please?
Anybody any ideas why the battery light is not going off on the horsebox when it is running I suspect alternator is on its way out would that make sense?

Yes could be mr alternator is FUBARed, a wiring fault or the belt has gone AWOL

Thank you - you have confirmed my suspicions, belt is definately not awol although may be damaged in some way I haven't checked it yet but will have a look tomorrow.
Looks like I will be calling my local friendly mechanic
