Im wanting to clip my coblet but i have no electricity at my yard so i was wondering about buying some battery powered clippers rather than buying some mains clippers and having to hack my horse to a friends yard to clip him.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for them, my cob has quite a thick coat already and the only thing that puts me off is that they will need to be quite heavy duty ones, ive had a wahl set before and they couldnt get through his coat even when the blades were new so i had to send them back. In the past ive clipped him with my friends heavy duty clippers but shes moved away now.

Not sure about whether they would manage a thick coat but I think they would. Liveryman harmonys. Do a search on them on here

We have Lister Liberty we use them on Natives...they are not as powerful as my Lister Lasers but they are a Heavy duty mains clipper . I have just clipped out a Sec D with the Libertys and they did a great job . A friend of mine hogs with her Libertys so I would expect them to do the job.

I have a set of oster power pro,s and they go through my hairy cob and have hogged her with them and taken her thick feathers off !. They don,t look like heavy duty clippers as they are quite small compaired to others but do the job on mine.

I bought Lister Liberty last year for my overly sensitive (read pain in the ass) wb. They were brilliant. I had him clipped and done in 30 mins and he didn't look too bad either.

I've got Liveryman Harmony, But i find they chew up my welsh cob's coat a bit, But they work better on my thoroughbred.

Thanks for all your posts! I was pondering the liveryman harmony ones but was worried they would sort of drag through his coat like the wahl ones i had did, i might look at the heiniger ones
