I have on loan a heavy cob mare, she was not in great condition when she came in the winter but has improved a lot.
shes got a lot of feather and I want to keep it timmed over the summer. I have taken most of it off with sissors but it looks untidy. shes not keen on having her legs clipped so was thinking of getting some small battery powered trimmers. Has anyone any experience of these please?
Would they be strong enough to get through feathers?

Thanks for your quick reply. Just want to tidy her up really and have removed most of feathers with scissors but I cant seem to get them tidy and level now. any ideas bearing in mind she hates having her legs clipped.

Any suggestions anyone please! would liketo get her tidy this weekend and looking less like a hairy mamoth!

I have some wolsely Skylark trimmers that I did my boy's feathers with a couple of weeks ago... he's not megga hairy, and I had to pre-trim with scissors but they say they are suitable for feathers as well as faces... may be worth a go... they're about £50 but good trimmers...
