Bay horse - black or brown saddle ?

What is meant to be best on a bay horse, a black or brown saddle ?

(or is it just personal preference?!)

I think it is personal preference and it depends on the colour of the bay as well.

I prefer a brown saddle on a light or bright bay but probably black on a very dark bay if that makes sense.

I always have brown (dark havana) tack. If you want to show you should definitely go for brown over black.

I've got a bridle in like an Oak Havana - Looks lovely on my dark bay!

It depends more on your discipline - black is more common in dressage, and brown more common in showing for example.

If you do a bit of everything, or just hack etc, it's personal preferance (I prefer brown)

For me personally:

Bay/Grey/black - havana
Chestnut - black

I love brown but I don't think it looks great on my liver chestnut!

So I'd go for brown on yours - I think the biggest contrast usually looks best.....

I think its personal preferance, I have black tack for dressage and brwon tack for jumping, just think it looks better this way round!

I have a dark bay and all my tack is black. I just don't like brown tack full stop!

Brown tack! I have a dark bay coloured horse, he has black and brown tack, but personally prefer the brown....

I miss match

Bought a new saddle in Brown and have not changed my bridle yet

( I have bought some brown boots which I am currently wearing withblack chaps so he doesn't feel left out though

)
