Trundled to BCA yesterday for some showjumping practice before the event season next year. Being super duper organised we ended up arriving 2nd (it's eerily quiet then?!) and went off to walk the BN After jumping round Addington (huge) and Blewbury (akin to jumping in a shoebox) BCA was a nice course with lots of space. Hooray!

Watched a few and went to warm up. Chaotic warmup as usual but managed to warm in and went in. He jumped the first half really nicely and to be fair he jumped the second half very nicely too we just somehow ended up with 3 down?! Not sure if he just misread them as a lot of horses were having them down but didn't matter hugely to me as he felt fantastic over them which is what we wanted. Indeed, I even persuaded myself to jump the discovery as well!

Walked the course and again and, Wow. 1m BSJA is far FAR bigger than 1m/PN Showjumping! Jasper the horse clearly agreed as he jumped pretty much the entire course twice the height he needed to, photos at bottom! But anyway, I was absolutely thrilled for us to jump clear and come 8th!! That is our first Discovery class together and could not have wanted more! Do excuse position but I was not expecting him to jump that high at all and got quite tense!

And my beautiful impression of the hunchback of notredame on a horse....

Can I also send lots of healing vibes to the girl who fell off in the disco after me... looked like a horrible fall and hope everything is okay!

Ah, bless him - Jasper looks like he's trying sooo hard! Well done on your clear round :). Did you find a buyer for Iska in the end?

Well done! Lovely photos, he's stunning :)

I'm also oxfordshire based and about to pop my membership forms in the post for BS, is there anywhere else you go other than Addington, BCA, Blewbury? I've been to addington, blewbury and west wilts before for unaff jumping, is the BSJA at the venues much different to unaff? Sorry to hijack! :D

Still got Iska - will keep her till the middle of next event season! How is Hong Kong?

RE BS: We tend to go to Blewbury, Addington, BCA, Bury Farm, and there is plaec around and about called Rose Cottage Stud in Wokingham?? Only on occasionally! Also, there is Snowball farm which is quite close to us!

I think I am doing an Ernest Dillon clinic at Quainton stud with my Mum on her horse too! Bit annoying really as the courses were lovely and you still had space to turn! I am secretly enjoying this BS lark. (Only when it goes well mind!)

I thought the Ernest clinic was the weekend before? Wanted to do both but am broke with Christmas coming up so going for a lesson with him at Foxley court a few days before the clinic.

Tbh I really was not expecting him to jump that big. It was borderline scary but insanely good fun! I'm a bit worried about whats going to happen if I ever move up a level but lets worry about that when we get there....

Ecrozier - It's at Quainton stud so I think it's on the 11th, but also have some other stuff going on so not 100% certain what to do! Also, there is drag hunting at Kingsclere that day! Dilemma!

HK is good but v busy!! I skived off work for a couple of hours today for a Tim Downes clinic, which was excellent. I thoroughly recommend a lesson with him!
