BD and neckstraps???

Can someone just clarify the use of neckstraps in BD for me?

I now know you can use them at Prelim but not at Novice, but can you warm up in them for a Novice class?

Are there limitations on what breastplates you can use and if so what levels can you use these in???

I *think* you can use breastplates most of the time (don't know above med as never have

) Don't know rules for working in with neckstrap but with assume ok as like boots, u'll take of before going in

For breastplates it just says are permitted in the rule book, doesnt say anything to do with what levels etc, and neck straps are allowed for working in but are nto allowed for levels above novice

you can wear a neckstrap at prelim ONLY to compete.

You can warm up in one for any level but not compete in it.

Breastplates are fine and also balance straps which attatch to your D rings are legal at all levels

Thanks everyone... so I can warm up in a neck strap as long as I take it off when I take off my boots etc?

Becki, you can use a "bucking" or balance strap at the front of the saddle, these are allowed at all levels. I had one permanently attached to mine for ages! Only recently removed it now that idiot boy seems to have grown up a bit
