Contemplating booking tickets for one of the weekend days - current mare has got me into dressage and I’ve got the bug so thought I’d go see how it’s done. Is it a good event and what should I really look out for (other than my purse with all the shopping)!

I love the Nationals, it depends what you are interested in as to which is the best weekend day to go. I always go Sunday as I love the young horse classes, although wasn't so keen on the new format they used last year and then the GP freestyle is in the afternoon, there are usually a master class or two and a display. Not sure what is on Saturday as haven't looked.

It is a bit of a trek from the car park but there is a shuttle bus to take you back and forth. If wet there is not always anywhere to go to get out the weather other than trade stands so might be worth getting a ticket in the covered stand so you can at least stay dry.

Food was ok but not great last year.

I would say Saturday is the better day to view more. I go for as much as possible every year....I like the fact I can sit and watch whole classes...and I do as well! Radio Nationals is also worth tuning in for,

Food is not as good as at other shows but passable.
