Does anyone know if BD are holding Nationals at Somerford Park in 2026?
Lovely venue. Lots of loos and Hope Valley very helpful.
Meanwhile in competition no movement by movement scoring today. Because of the positioning of the Pavilion competitors in the other arenas did not have many people watching. (Yes, I did live Stoneleigh). Next moan..Very limited shopping, fewer people than last year and the weather can do one🤣although we do need the rain…
Some gorgeous horses and well done to Sadie Smith.
 
not gone since at somerford park - love stoneleigh - i live near by so easy to get to. (i know that lots of the competitors were unhappy with stabling - but that should be fixable). the photographs make it look awful - looks like no-one watching at all. somerford have pulled out of all other high level dressage - i would have thought it's only a matter of time before they pull out of nationals
 
I was writing there this weekend. Fantastic venue, but they really need to do something about the judges boxes. All other venues used for big competitions have windows, and some even have heaters. At Somerford they are open to the elements. My hands were so cold it affected my ability to type. Stewards came round offering us blankets. At least I was dry though. The poor judges and writers this afternoon got soaked while trying to do their jobs!

Yes, we saw there wasn’t any windows-and it was cold this morning-poor you.
And I agree, writers and judges must have been soaked-so windy and wet.
