Hi all,

Quick question as I am a numpty! What does 'W' stand for in a class name? There's no 'Q' (Qualifier)...

Class 5: Elementary W ??

Advice appreciated.

Thanks
Ax

It is a non-qualifier.

Last year you could have one qualifier (WQ) and one non-qualifier (W) to get through to the Regionals. However, it is now two qualifiers.

thanks for that.

So what's the difference between the two classes? Is there any difference in entry qualifications?

No, but if you win a non-qualifier it won't count towards qualification for the regionals under the current rules as they require you to win 2 qualifiers.

Usually the non-qualifiers are a smaller class as some competitors will only do the qualifiers to avoid clocking up points unnecessarily.
